biography

Zaha Hadid studied mathematics at the American University of Beirut and architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. After graduation, she worked at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) with Rem Koolhaas before creating his own agency in London in 1980. During the 1980s, she also teaches at the Architectural Association School of Architecture and in the most prestigious international institutions.
With Koolhaas, she meets Peter Rice who supports at a time when his works seem difficult to build. She gets a job at Kenzo Tange Chair at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, the Sullivan Chair at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Architecture.
